Installation and Launch

These instructions apply to the current Debian-format CZUR Image+ Linux package. The current Linux release supports only amd64 (x86_64, 64-bit x86). Check the compatibility matrix and your system architecture first.

1. Install the downloaded package

Check the system architecture in an Ubuntu terminal:

bash
dpkg --print-architecture

The output should be amd64. If it is arm64, i386, or another architecture, do not install the current package.

Obtain the .deb file from a CZUR official release channel. Open a terminal in the download directory and run:

bash
sudo apt install './CZURImagePlus_<version>.Release_amd64_ubuntu.deb'

Replace <version> with the downloaded version number and use the exact filename of your download. ./ selects a local file in the current directory. Follow the dependency prompts. Installation needs administrator permissions; do not run Image+ with sudo for normal use.

If installation fails, keep the full error and check the distribution and architecture. Do not bypass dependencies or disable system security to force installation.

2. Launch the application

Open CZUR Image+ from the application menu, or run this command as a regular user:

bash
/opt/apps/com.czur.imageplus/CZURImagePlus

Ubuntu 22.04 / 24.04 do not need the extra environment variable described here. For Ubuntu 26.04, continue with the dedicated launch notes.

3. Check the basic workflow

  1. Launch the application and confirm the home screen opens.
  2. Import a test image and check the preview.
  3. If using a scanner, connect it and check that it appears as an acquisition source. OS testing does not establish support for every scanner model.
  4. Export the required format and inspect the result.

Updates and file associations

Use the same product and architecture when updating, and follow its release notes. If you created a per-user Ubuntu 26.04 launcher, check whether it is still needed after the update.

Desktop launchers may use %F or %U for opening files. Preserve these arguments along with existing environment variables, paths, and options when editing a launcher.

For problems, see feedback preparation.
